This Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 9:00 am the Metro Board will make a historic decision on whether to approve a motion to recommend the TSM/TDM Alternative instead of the Tunnel Alternative as the Locally Preferred Alternative. This would effectively close the door on this issue. If you would like to make public comment you may do so at the meeting or submit them in writing to Metro CEO, Phillip A. Washington and the Metro Board via email: or fax: 213-922-4594.

Background: On May 17, 2017 the Metro Ad Hoc Highway, Congestion and Road Committee approved a motion to recommend the TSM/TDM Alternative to Caltrans as the Locally Preferred Alternative; and reallocate the remaining Measure R funds to projects within the San Gabriel Valley subregion. While the vote will not kill the Tunnel Alternative outright, it is a step in the right direction to put an end to the SR-710 extension project.
